University Theme Committee Request for Sponsorship

Dear Organization Advisors/Department Chairs:

The University Theme Committee (UTC) receives funding from the Provost's Office for the purpose of bringing to campus major speakers for educational programs to complement the University Theme and First Year Experience programs. The Committee seeks to assist student organizations and departments by facilitating smaller scale speaking events and programs which engage our campus community in dialogues related to the theme. To this end, the Committee has designated a portion of the annual budget to sponsor such programs.

If your department or organization is interested in bringing a speaker to campus, the UTC may be able to assist by providing additional funds to offset honoraria or speakers' fees for theme-related programs. All requests for UTC funding will be evaluated based on the program's relevance to the University Theme and related activities. The University Theme for the upcoming year is Health and Wellness: Challenges and Responsibilities.

Provided on this website are the UTC Sponsorship Guidelines and a Request for Funding proposal. Please note that proposals will be reviewed and funds allocated each semester, and not on a yearly basis. Submit completed request forms for the Fall 2008 semester to the University Theme Committee in care of Dr. Judith Dallinger in the Provost's Office no later than Friday, May 23, 2008. A letter will go out in the fall for Spring 2009 request. You will be informed as soon as possible if your request has been granted.
